When extending WiFi to outbuildings, we prefer to use a wired cable connection where it’s practical, because it’s the option least likely to let you down later.

Wireless bridges and mesh access points have their place, and we fit them regularly when extending WiFi outdoors, but they’re a decision we make on the specifics of your property and layout.

During your site visit, we will examine:

  • Distance and layout between your home and the outbuilding
  • Access for cabling, including whether an underground run is realistic
  • What the space is used for, since a video-call-ready home office needs a different standard to a self-contained garden annexe.

Every project starts with us looking at your property, not a fixed package. We check your existing router and home network setup, walk the route to the outbuilding, and identify exactly where a cable run would need to go or where a wireless access point would need to sit for the best coverage.

You get a specific recommendation for your garden and outbuilding, with the reasoning behind it, rather than a generic WiFi extender fitted and hoped for the best.

To extend WiFi to outbuildings cabling is run and terminated properly, and routes are agreed with you before any work starts, so your finished network installation is tidy and concealed rather than an afterthought trailing across the lawn.

Once fitted, we test signal strength and connection speed inside the outbuilding itself, not just at the router, before we leave your home.

Working across local homes in the West Midlands and Staffordshire, including major areas like Cannock, Lichfield, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Telford, Solihull and beyond, we bring the same wired-first standard to every garden office, annexe or summer house we fit.
